Djibouti stands on the Gulf of Aden, close to the Bab-el-Mandeb strait at the southern entrance of the Red Sea. Its port and the Doraleh terminals are the main sea gateway for Ethiopia's trade, and ships on the Suez route call here for bunkers and stores.

Planning the delivery
Good habits for any port call.
- Send the request as soon as the arrival date is firm, and update it if the date moves. 01
- For deliveries at anchorage, agree with the supplier and your agent how the goods reach the ship (launch or barge) and who books it. 02
- Ask your port agent how stores are cleared through customs here before you award, and share it with the supplier. 03
- Compare quotes on the same lines and check validity, delivery charges and lead time, not only the total. 04
- Confirm commercial and payment details through trusted channels before you pay. 05
